The meeting was called to order by President Elmer at 1pm
Invocation: Fintan Mooney gave a short and sweet blessing of the food.
Visiting Rotarians and guests: J.P. welcomed our only visitor, Rotaract PP Taran Mackey. Several Rotarians introduced guests including Ros Brown, Hope Sealey, Stacy Lubin-Gray, and PP Geoff who welcomed back Sam Nicholls of Basketball Smiles.
Announcements: Sam Nicholls announced the upcoming Sweet 16 for Basketball Smiles, a completely free basketball camp which will welcome over 300 kids this summer. Sam thanked RCEN for its continued support and looks forward to seeing us again in June, and noted the goal this year was to also provide each participant with a back-pack so that they don’t have to carry their books to school in a grocery bag.
Phil Andrews (golf tournament) and Adam Darville (fishing tournament) encouraged new members to get involved with our upcoming major fundraising events – the golf committee meets at Green Parrot on East Bay at 6:00 Tuesday January 20th. Paul Cartwright announced the continuing work at Seahorse Institute and PP and District Foundation Chair Lindsey presented a District Grant check for almost $4,500 for additional wheelchairs for BAPD.
4-Way Test: Was led by PP Geoff.
Sergeant: Mike Lightbourn stated that with two people clapping as he approached the podium, that was his best welcome ever. He complimented Franny on his record-breaking fine total for the previous week and stated his goal of beating that record, but that it would be difficult without Robin or Frank present. Mike was in “fine” form with several persons in the newspaper and some latecomers and some very late arrivals. He also told some great jokes and had the audience laughing hard at the expense of the Irish and a blonde.
Awards: Attendance Director Desiray presented perfect attendance pins to Brent Symonette (1 year), Geoff Andrews (19), Paul Cartwright (20), Murray Forde (32) and Jeff Albury (34)!! Congratulations to those members, we should all strive for perfect attendance.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY: None
JOINED DATE ANNIVERSARY: Clive Hanson and Bianca Carter.
GUEST SPEAKERS: introductions were made by Warren Rolle of our speakers, Karin Rawlings and Tami Luviner, who are here to coordinate a major fundraiser for the Ranfurly Homes. Karen and Tami are like sisters and have been coming to The Bahamas for over 15 years, and have a strong background with the performing arts, particularly dance. During a trip here to promote a movie, Standing Ovation, they became involved with The Ranfurly Homes, presenting them with much needed appliances and other improvements. Now they are back to promote a dance show involving several local dance groups to raise additional funds to cover day to day operating expenses for Ranfurly. The show is intended to be fun rather than competitive, with several dance instructors volunteering their personal time to come down here and assist, and they will also be conducting Dance Pep Rallies. PP Peter Andrews thanked them for their efforts and encouraged members to support the effort on Sunday afternoon.
