Speaker for the day:
There were 3 speakers today, Vibert Williams introduced Dianne Gibson, Carol Bischof introduced David Morely, and Geoff Andrews introduced Jennifer Hadland.

Dianne is the Asst Manager at the Club One fitness centre. She addressed the meeting and spoke of the Soul 2 Soul Run Club which aids charities like the BAPD, the BreezathonTriathalon and the Single Parents Foundation. Her aim is to promote health and fitness in the Bahamas together with the more holistic approach of ‘wellness’ for the heart and soul. As a single mother of 1 she is fostering 3 children due to the death of a friend and is setting up a support network for single mothers.

Jennifer Hadland (from the New Providence Community Church) continued on this theme with her Single Parents Foundation. There is little government/social service support for single parent families which represent around 70% of families in the Bahamas. The goal of the Foundation is to provide assistance to these families to enable them to reduce the stresses of life and encourage self-esteem for the parents and children alike. They are planning a BreezathonTriathalon at Goodmans Bay on April 4thwhich will includes lots of other family fun activities including an easter egg hunt and a petting zoo. The fundraising is to find some premises to use as a base and ‘drop in centre’ for the Foundation.

David Morely is a personal trainer based at the Club One fitness centre, and he is available to offer fitness advice to cope with a Triathlon (running, biking and swimming).
Vote of Thanks:
