March 22nd, 2007 was recognized internationally as World Water Day.

RCEN and the other Bahamas clubs of District 7020 are responding to the challenge by RI to get involved with major water projects by helping to build a plant in Grand Bahama to address the need for water in the event of a disaster.

Our district succeeded in it's application for the only competitive grant made in 2006/07 with a proposal to help fund and bring online a reverse osmosis plant for emergency water relief in the northern Bahamas. The Rotary Club of East Nassau is the sponsoring club in 7020 for this project

Following is a link to a video of the presentation made at the Rotary Club of Freeport (District 6990) which is the best way to understand why this was done and where we are with it.
